MELBOURNE - Jul 6/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front is over the southern Tasman Sea and a low is west of Bass Strait with a high to the south of Tasmania. The low is expected to weaken overnight and the cold front should sweep northwards, bringing a southerly change to New South Wales on Tuesday. The high should then move to the southern Tasman Sea in the wake of the cold front where it will remain for the rest of the week. A weak cold front and upper level disturbance are likely to affect the state on Thursday and Friday before a stronger cold front moves through on the weekend. Forecast for the rest of MondayMedium chance of showers over the southern inland, and on the south coast tonight. Snow showers on the Alps above 1200 metres. Fine elsewhere. West to northwest winds, fresh in the southeast.Tuesday 7 JulyHigh chance of showers developing about the coast and adjacent ranges south of about Port Macquarie. Possible snow showers on the Alps above 1200 metres. Mostly fine elsewhere. Early morning fog and highland frost patches. Southwest to southerly winds, freshening along the coast.Wednesday 8 JulyHigh chance of showers along the coast and adjacent ranges. Early morning fog and highland frost patches. Fine elsewhere. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds.Thursday 9 JulyMedium chance of showers about the western slopes of the ranges and on the far north coast. Possible snow above 1400 metres in the Snowy mountains. Early morning fog and highland frost patches. Mostly fine elsewhere.
