Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 4/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over southern New South Wales will move slowly northwards on Sunday. The next low and associated cold front will move south of the Bight on Sunday and the front will enter western Victoria during Monday but will weaken as it moves across central districts on Monday night. The low will sit just west of Victoria on Monday then it too will weaken before sliding southwards later on Tuesday. A high pressure system will pass well south of Tasmania during Monday and Tuesday to lie over the southern Tasman Sea on Wednesday and a ridge will extend northwards from this high to the New south wales coast.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers over southern and mountain areas. Snow above 1200 metres. Cool to cold. Cloudy in the south but mostly clear over the far north. Light to moderate northwest winds, fresh about the exposed coast.Sunday 5 JulyMorning fog and frost patches, mainly over the north. Isolated showers in the southwest. Isolated showers about the eastern highlands with light snowfalls above 1300 metres, clearing by the afternoon. Cool and partly cloudy with light to moderate north to northwesterly winds.Monday 6 JulyScattered showers over southern and mountain areas, isolated elsewhere. The chance of thunderstorms over the far southwest. Snowfalls above 1200 metres. Cool to cold and a mostly cloudy day with a light to moderate northerly wind, tending northwest to westerly over the west.Tuesday 7 JulyMorning fog patches in the north. Isolated showers in the west and southeast but mainly dry over central areas and the north. Light snowfalls possible above 1300 metres. A cool to cold day with chiefly light to moderate northeast to northwesterly wind.Wednesday 8 JulyIsolated showers.
