Crop Worries Support Lentils

VANCOUVER - Jun 27/15 - SNS -- Lentil markets finished the week with a firm undertone, with North American exporters showing little interest in adding to new crop sales positions.

Hot and dry conditions in Saskatchewan have combined with weather stress in parts of the U.S. growing area to keep processors and exporters cautious.

The fact that old crop inventories are unusually tight is contributing to the mood. Most of the Canada's crop is developing normally. But, 37% of all pulse crops and around 36% of lentil fields are considered behind normal development for this time of year.
