ST. JOSEPH - Jun 19/15 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Jun 19.
WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW Soybeans closed with sharp gains as corn and wheat closed with lower bids for the week. Soybeans found support from heavy rains from east Texas up through the Ohio River Valley adding to already saturated fields from Tropical Storm Bill. There are nearly 11 million acres of soybeans left to plant with near 7 million acres in states where it is very wet. There are concerns of acres not getting planted and production being limited for both soybeans and corn. Corn on Mondays progress report showed 91 percent emerged and 73 percent rated good to excellent. Temperatures next week are expected to be hotter which will be helpful for drying out wet fields. Wheat closed 13-26 cents lower. Corn traded mostly 1-6 cents lower with sorghum 3 cents lower. Soybeans closed 30-34 cents higher. WHEAT: Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 20-25 cents lower from 5.93 1/4-6.23 1/4 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Soft Red winter rail bid was not quoted. St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red Winter terminal bid was 16 to 26 cents lower from 4.68-4.93 per bushel. Minneapolis and Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was 2 cents higher to 13 cents lower from 7.14 3/4-7.19 3/4 per bushel. Portland US Soft White wheat rail was not available per bushel. CORN: Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 3 cents higher from 3.63-3.68 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 6 1/2-11 1/2 cents higher at 3.68 per bushel. Omaha corn was 1-2 cents higher from 3.58-3.61 per bushel. Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 1 1/2-2 1/2 cents higher from 3.43-3.62 per bushel. Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 1 1/2 cents higher at 3.54 per bushel. Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn rail was 1/2 cent lower at 3.31 per bushel. OATS AND BARLEY: US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20 day was 1 cent lower from 2.73 3/4-3.13 3/4 per bushel. US No 3 or better rail malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was not available per bushel. Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not available. SORGHUM: US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 3 cents higher at 7.11 per cwt. Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the farmer, fob elevator) was 3 cents higher from 6.66-7.03 per bushel. OILSEEDS: Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 34 3/4 cents higher at 9.67 3/4 per bushel. Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 30 3/4- 32 3/4 from 9.95 3/4-10.12 3/4 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Yellow truck soybeans were 35 3/4 higher at 10.05 3/4 per bushel. Illinois 48 percent Soybean meal, processor rail bid was 13.20 higher from 336.60-346.60 per ton.
