LITTLE ROCK - Jun 15/15 - SNS -- The latest weekly rice market summary for the United States was released by the USDA today.
National Weekly Rice Summary (Arkansas-Louisiana-Texas-California) Domestic Trend In the south, Long and Medium grain milled rice prices steady. Parboiled, Second Heads and Brewers rice prices steady. Rice by-products: Rice Bran, Millfeed and Ground hull prices steady. Domestic demand remains good as mills continue processing regular customer orders. As of Jun 14, NASS reporting new crop rice condition, in the south, as mostly good. States with very limited old crop rice stocks (i.e. Texas and Louisiana) are seeing prices remain firm. States with available supplies of old crop rice stock (i.e. Arkansas) are seeing prices continue to soften. In California, medium grain milled rice prices steady to firm. Second heads and Brewers rice prices steady. Rice by-products: Rice Bran prices steady; ground hull prices very lightly tested. Rice mills continue steady milling and processing regular customer orders. However, mills will need to, more frequently, reevaluate their patty rice supplies as old crop inventories are lessening. As of Jun 14, NASS reporting California new crop rice condition as mostly excellent. CME Rough Rice settlements for Friday Jun 12th, Jly 15 closed .115 lower at 9.68; Sep 15 closed .125 lower at 9.945; Nov 15 closed .125 lower at 10.21. US dollar index on Friday settled at 94.91. NASS Rice stock report will be release on June 30.
