A surface trough will shift east over the state on Friday, most likely contracting off the southern Queensland coast on Saturday. A series of upper troughs will extend cloud and possible patchy light rain into southwestern Queensland during the forecast period. Warm conditions will spread through the interior.Saturday 30 MayThe new high will develop over southwestern Australia while the ridge along the east Queensland coast will weaken further. Just the slight chance of a shower is expected over the exposed east Queensland coast north of Fraser Island in the weakening onshore wind flow. Cloudy conditions and some patchy rain will persist in the far southwest of the state. Cloud will also increase through the northwest though with little or no rain expected. The surface trough will move over southeastern Queensland, possibly generating some isolated shower activity. Fine and mostly sunny conditions are expected elsewhere.Sunday 31 MayThe high will move slowly east over southwestern Australia. A cold front will sweep east over southeastern Australia, extending a trough into the interior of Queensland. This may generate some isolated shower or storm activity over the southern and southeastern interior to its east. Cloudy conditions will persist in the far southwest of the state with some patchy rain expected. Cloud will increase further through the northwest though with just the slight chance of some light rain expected. The slight chance of a shower will persist about the east tropical coast in the weakening onshore wind flow. The trough is expected to generate some showers with its passage. The high will continue moving east over southern Australia during the outlook period, extending a firm ridge and a cool, dry southerly wind flow into Queensland in the wake of the trough. Early frosts are likely over the southeastern interior from Tuesday morning. The slight chance of a shower will persist over the east tropical coast, becoming more likely from Wednesday as the onshore wind flow freshens. The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Thursday.Product IDQ10700 Notice Board MetEye extended into Queensland --> Cairns (Saddle Mountain) Radar reinstalled Rainfall Forecast Terminology Media Releases Marketing Meteorological Offices Cairns weather Charleville weather Longreach weather Mackay weather Mount Isa weather Rockhampton weather Townsville weather Weipa weather Other Information Fire Weather Forecast Areas About Weather Forecast Services About Warning Services Warnings Water Climate Environment Tropical Cyclones Tsunami Warning Centre Agriculture - Water and the Land Marine & Ocean UV & Sun Protection Rainfall & River Conditions Graphical Views Radar Maps Rainfall Forecasts Seasonal Outlooks Climate Variability & Change Climate Data Online Seasonal Streamflow Forecasts Water Storage MetEye™ National Weather Services Aviation Weather Services Defence Services Space Weather Services Registered User Services Commercial Weather Services Business Entry Point Facebook Twitter Youtube Blog Google+ Careers Sitemap Feedback Freedom of Information Indigenous Weather Knowledge Glossary This page was created at 08:15 on Wednesday 27 May 2015 (GMT) © Copyright Commonwealth of Australia 2015, Bureau of Meteorology (ABN 92 637 533 532) | Disclaimer | Privacy | Accessibility var hostname = window.location.hostname; var host = hostname.split("."); if (host[0] == "reg") var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-20386085-1']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); else if (host[0] == "wdev") var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-21709175-1']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); else var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-3816559-1']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ?
