Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 27/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak cold front is moving across southern coasts and a more significant front will move across the south of the State on Thursday. A series of weak fronts will pass to the south of the State over the next few days and a more significant front will move across the south on Sunday. A middle level disturbance will extend a rain band across the west and south of the pastoral districts and the Flinders district on Thursday, which will then gradually contract to the far north by Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayAreas of rain developing in the far northwest. A slight to medium chance of showers extending across the southern agricultural area. Areas of fog about the West Coast district and south of the Northwest Pastoral late evening. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Light winds, tending moderate northwest about southern coasts.Thursday 28 MayMorning fog about the West Coast district, north of Eyre and Yorke Peninsulas and the west of the Mid-North and again about the West Coast late evening. A high to very high chance of rain extending across the Northwest Pastoral, Flinders and south and west of the Northeast Pastoral district. A slight chance of showers over the remainder, more likely about the southern agricultural area with a possible afternoon thunderstorm in the Lower South East. Cool to mild generally, but warm in the far northeast and cold under the rain band. Light winds tending light to moderate northwest over the agricultural area, fresh about southern coasts, turning southwesterly during the afternoon and evening.Friday 29 MayMorning fog over the agricultural area, West Coast district and south of the pastoral districts and again west of Ceduna late evening. A medium to high chance of rain north of about Woomera to Yunta except northeast of about Moomba. The slight chance of showers over the ranges, southern agricultural area and West Coast district, more likely near southern coasts and ranges. Cool to mild, but cold under rain, grading to warm in the far northeast. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending northwest to southwesterly in the south, fresh about southern coasts.Saturday 30 MayMorning fog over the West Coast district and the south of the Northwest Pastoral. Early fog patches over the east of the agricultural area. A medium to high chance of rain continuing north of about Marree, grading to very high in the far northwest. The slight chance of showers over the southern agricultural area and west coast, more likely near southern coasts. Cool to mild, grading to warm in the far northeast, but cold under rain. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly in the south.Sunday 31 May
A medium chance of rain north of about Coober Pedy, tending very high in the far north in the morning. A moderate chance of showers across the southern agricultural area and a slight chance about the northern agricultural area and west coast. Cool to mild in the south, mild to warm in the north, but cold under rain. Light winds, tending moderate to fresh northwest to southwest in the south.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Sunday are expected to be 15 to 25 mm north of Woomera, reaching 25 to 50 mm in the area north of Coober Pedy and west of Marree, but less than 15 mm in the far northeast. 2 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area reaching 10 to 20 mm about the Mount Lofty Ranges.
Monday until WednesdayA slight chance of showers in the far north contracting to the far northwest. A slight chance of showers over the agricultural area, contracting to southern coasts on Tuesday and Wednesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Thursday.Product IDS10033
