MELBOURNE - May 26/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over eastern New South Wales will move slowly eastwards to be centred over the Tasman Sea by Wednesday night. An upper level disturbance is causing a band of cloud stretching across most of the State. A series of weak fronts will pass to the south of the State from mid-week. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayAreas of high cloud. The slight chance of showers, clearing northeast of Coober Pedy to Leigh Creek, more likely in the Lower South East. Cool to mild with light winds.Wednesday 27 MayAreas of high cloud. The slight chance of showers, except for over the Riverland and Mid North. Showers becoming more likely over the North West Pastoral district to the west of about Woomera, tending to areas of rain later. The chance of early morning thunder near far southern coasts. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Light to moderate northerly winds.Thursday 28 MayAreas of rain developing over the Pastoral and Flinders districts and the far north of the agricultural areas, mostly likely north of about Woomera, but clearing in the far northeast. The slight chance of showers over the remainder, more likely about southern coasts and ranges and in the Lower South East. Cool to mild generally, but warmer in the far northeast. Light winds tending light to moderate northwest to southwesterly over the agricultural area.Friday 29 MayEarly fog over the northern agricultural area, Flinders district and south of the Pastoral districts. A medium to high chance of rain north of about Leigh Creek. The slight chance of showers over the southern agricultural area and West Coast district, more likely near southern coasts and ranges. Cool to mild grading to warm in the far northeast. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending northwest to southwesterly in the south.Saturday 30 May Early fog west of Ceduna to Woomera. A medium to high chance of rain continuing north of about Leigh Creek. The slight chance of showers over the southern agricultural area and western coasts, more likely near southern coasts and in the Lower South East. Cool to mild grading to warm in the far northeast. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending northwest to southwesterly in the south. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Saturday are expected to be 5 to 20 mm over the Flinders and Pastoral districts, but easing to less than 1 mm in the far northeast. Totals of 20 to 30 mm are possible over the North West Pastoral to the northwest of Coober Pedy. 1 to 5 mm is expected further south, with possible falls of 5 to 10 mm in the Lower South East. Sunday until TuesdayAreas of rain north of about Coober Pedy contracting northwards and clearing Sunday evening. The slight chance of showers over the southern agricultural area, contracting to southern coasts by Tuesday. The slight chance of showers developing west of Nullarbor to Ernabella on Tuesday.
