Weak Undertone in World Beans

VANCOUVER - May 22/15 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets maintained their weaker undertone as selling interest pushed ahead of the short term needs of buyers.

North American markets continued to follow their own path reflecting the fact the domestic market is more important than export.

This was reflected in the spot price index for U.S. origin pulses, which inched 0.6 points lower on the week to finish at 150.6. The world export price index for pulses was nominally unchanged on the week, inching up 0.1 points at 183.9. Canada's special crop index rose 0.7 points to finish the week at 188.8.
