Weather Situation A deep low pressure system will pass to the south of Tasmania today. Cold fronts will move across Bass Strait and Tasmania during Wednesday and Thursday, maintaining a vigorous westerly airflow across southern Victoria this week. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayScattered showers, more frequent over the southwest and the northeast ranges. Snow above 1400 metres. Local hail and thunder in the south. A cool to cold day with strong to locally gale force north to northwesterly winds turning strong and squally west to northwesterly from the west.Wednesday 6 MayScattered showers on and south or the ranges, falling as snow above 1400 metres. Only the chance of a shower about the northern plains. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh westerly winds, strong and gusty at times about the coast.Thursday 7 MayIsolated showers on and south or the ranges, more frequent near the coast and about the eastern ranges and falling as snow above 1200 metres.
