MELBOURNE - May 4/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A front near a line Port Lincoln to Giles at 5 pm is forecast to reach a line Marla to Port Augusta to Goolwa late evening, followed by a vigorous cold front on Tuesday. Another front will move across the south on Wednesday and a high pressure ridge will develop over the north of the State. Another front is expected to move across the south of the State on Saturday. Forecast for the rest of MondayThe slight chance of showers in the west, extending eastwards to reach a line Coober Pedy to Loxton late evening, with a medium chance of showers over the agricultural area. Warm with fresh to strong northerly winds, ahead of a cooler, fresh to strong west to southwesterly change in the far west, extending eastwards to reach a line near Marla to Port Augusta to Goolwa late evening.Tuesday 5 MayShowers over the agricultural area and south of the Pastoral districts, grading from a slight chance in the north to a very high chance in the south. Showers easing throughout in the afternoon and contracting southwards. Possible morning thunderstorms and small hail over the Lower South East district. Cool to cold grading to mild in the far northeast. Fresh to strong northwest to southwesterly winds, reaching gale force near the coasts, gradually easing during the afternoon and evening.Wednesday 6 MayA medium to high chance of showers over the southern agricultural area, with a slight chance over the west coast, northern agricultural area and far south of the pastoral districts. Cool with moderate to fresh northwest to southwest winds, strong about southern coasts in the morning, tending light southerly in the north.Thursday 7 MayAreas of morning fog over the West Coast district, the northern agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts. The slight chance of showers over the southern agricultural area and west coast, more likely about southern coasts. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh westerly winds, tending light to moderate southerly in the north.Friday 8 May Patchy morning fog over the West Coast district, the northern agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts. A slight chance of showers about the southern agricultural area and west coast, more likely about southern coasts and ranges. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh westerly winds, tending light to moderate southerly in the north. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Friday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area and west coast, reaching 10 to 20 mm about southern coasts and 20 to 30 mm about the south of the Mount Lofty Ranges. Falls of less than 2 mm elsewhere.
