USDA National Grain Review

ST. JOSEPH - Apr 24/15 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Apr 24.

WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW
   Wheat and soybeans were higher with corn and sorghum trading lower.  Soybeans
saw gains with demand picking up domestically.  Corn was pressured by favorable
weather outlook in parts of the Midwest as planting is gaining steam.  Early in
the week planting was at a standstill due to heavy rain in parts of the corn-
belt.  Planting progress was at 9 percent complete. A cool front moved in with
temperatures dropping into the 30’s.  Some light snow was reported in the upper
Midwest.  Wheat closed in positive territory despite moisture in the Southern
Plains.  Weekly export sales of corn were bullish coming in at 34.4 mb (874,100
mt), with 34.2 mb (867,900 mt) for the 2014-2015 marketing year.  Export sales
of soybeans were neutral listed at 4.0 mb 110,200 mt) with 3.8 mb (102,100 mt)
for the 2014-2015 marketing year.  Wheat export sales were at 19.3 mb (524,200
mt) with 14.6 mb (397,500 mt) for the 2014-2015 marketing year.  Wheat was
mostly 3-15 cents higher.  Corn was mostly 1-7 cents lower.  Sorghum was 10
cents lower.  Soybeans were 14-17 cents higher.
   WHEAT:  Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 11
1/4 cents higher from 6.04 1/2-6.14 1/2 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 Soft
Red winter rail bid was not quoted.  St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red Winter
terminal bid was 3 cents higher at 4.97 per bushel.  Minneapolis and Duluth US
No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was 15 1/4 cents
higher from 6.75 1/4-7.20 1/4 per bushel.  Portland US Soft White wheat rail was
steady to 3 1/4 cents lower from 5.90-6.31 1/4 per bushel.
   CORN:  Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was steady to 3 cents lower from
3.75-3.83 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 1 1/2 cents
lower at 3.74 3/4 per bushel.  Omaha corn was 1 to 2 cents lower from 3.69-3.73
per bushel.  Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 5 1/2 cents lower from 3.57 3/4-
3.78 3/4 per bushel.  Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 3 1/2 cents lower from
3.65 3/4-3.71 3/4 per bushel.  Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn rail was 7 1/2
cents lower at 3.56 3/4 per bushel.
   OATS AND BARLEY:  US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20
day was 6 3/4 cents lower from 2.66 1/4-3.06 1/4 per bushel.  US No 3 or better
rail malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was at 6.35
per bushel.  Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not
available.
   SORGHUM:  US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 10 cents lower at 7.87 per
cwt.  Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the
farmer, fob elevator) was 10 cents lower from 6.89-7.32 per bushel.
   OILSEEDS:  Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 15 1/4 cents higher at 9.67
1/4 per bushel.  Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 14 1/4
cents higher from 9.93 1/4-10.00 1/4 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 Yellow
truck soybeans were 17 1/4 cents higher at 9.98 1/4 per bushel.  Illinois 48
percent Soybean meal, processor rail bid was 4.20 higher from 330.60-338.60 per
ton.  Central Illinois Crude Soybean oil processor bid was 51 points higher from
31.52-32.27 cents per pound.
