Canada's Bulk Lentil Exports Slump in March
VANCOUVER - Apr 21/15 - SNS -- The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) reports 12,800 metric tons (MT) lentils were exported through licensed facilities which are required to report to it all grain movement in March.
The CGC data does not include exports in containers or from non-reporting terminals.
The CGC reports 18,400 MT were shipped the same month last year, while movement is down sharply from the 52,300 MT shipped the previous month.
This lifted season to date bulk exports to 401,300 MT since the August start of the current marketing year, compared to 251,300 MT during the same period last season. The 2013-14 marketing year finished with 440,300 MT of lentils exported through facilities reporting to the CGC, versus 231,900 MT the previous season.
