Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 30/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system is centred over the western Tasman Sea and is extending a ridge across New South Wales. A trough of low pressure over the north of the state, in combination with an upper level trough, is bringing unsettled weather to the northeastern half, and is expected to contract to the far northeast on Wednesday. The next frontal system is expected to move through southern parts of the state on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayShowers and thunderstorms in the northeast half this evening. Partly cloudy in the west and southeast. Northeasterly winds near the coast, south to southeasterly winds inland.Tuesday 31 MarchShowers in the northeast half of the state and on the south and central coasts. Thunderstorms over the northeast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Northeast to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 1 AprilThe chance of showers over the far northeast of the state. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. East to northeasterly winds, freshening on the South Coast.Thursday 2 AprilChance of showers in the eastern third of the state and in the southern inland. Fine but mostly cloudy elsewhere. East to northeasterly winds ahead of a south to southwesterly change extending from the south.Friday 3 AprilChance of showers over all but the far northwest, more frequent over the far northeast and the southern slopes. Southeast winds in the east, tending northeast inland.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Tuesday.Product IDN10031
