MELBOURNE - Mar 30/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure ridge will remain over South Australia for the next couple of days. A trough will move over western and southern parts of the State on Wednesday. A new high pressure system will move into a position south of the Bight early on Thursday then will move east to be over the Tasman Sea by late Thursday. Forecast for the rest of MondayFine and clear. Mild evening with mainly light winds.Tuesday 31 MarchPossible morning fog patches over the Kangaroo Island and the South East. Fine apart from a slight chance of showers developing in the far west late in the evening. Warm to hot with light to moderate southeast to northeast winds turning northeast to northeasterly during the day, freshening in the west during the afternoon.Wednesday 1 AprilThe chance of showers developing west of Coober Pedy to Renmark, more likely about the southern coasts. Generally warm to hot with light to moderate northeasterly winds ahead of a milder southerly change developing from the west. Winds becoming east to southeasterly throughout by late evening.Thursday 2 AprilThe chance of showers south of Ernabella to Marree, more likely south of Coober Pedy to Yunta but north of Port Lincoln to Keith. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north, becoming cooler throughout during the period. Light to moderate east to southeasterly winds, fresh about the coasts.Friday 3 April The slight chance of showers across the State east of Coober Pedy to Streaky Bay apart from the far north. Also slight chance of showers about the far western coast. Showers more likely about the southern Eyre, Yorke and Fleurieu Peninsulas, Kangaroo Island and the South East districts. Mild to warm in the south grading to warm to hot in the north with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Friday is expected to be 2 to 5 mm about the agricultural area. Less than 2 mm expected in the remainder. Saturday until MondayThe chance of showers across the State except the far northeast on Saturday, contracting to southern and western coasts on Sunday, before extending to the agricultural area on Monday.
