National Weekly Rice Summary (Arkansas-Louisiana-Texas-California) Domestic Trend In the south, long and medium grain milled rice prices steady. Parboiled, Second heads and Brewers steady. Rice by-products: rice bran steady to 10.00 lower, millfeed steady to 10.00 lower and ground rice hulls steady to 5.00 lower. Continued drop in rice by-products due to increased inventory as majority of rice mills maintain a 24 hr run until the end of March. In California, medium grain milled rice prices steady. Second heads and Brewers steady. Rice by-products: rice bran prices steady; rice hull prices not full established. Drought conditions continue to exist throughout the state with little to no relief. CME Rough Rice settlements for Friday Mar 20th, May 15 closed .005 lower at 10.92; Jly 15 closed unch at 11.165; Sep 15 closed .005 lower at 11.295. US dollar index on Friday settled at 97.80.
