Mexico Becomes Net Pulse Exporter

VANCOUVER - Mar 20/15 - SNS -- Mexico was a net exporter of pulses in 2014 because of a sharp decline in dry edible bean purchases from the United States and a solid increase in chickpea shipments, according to data contained in the Platinum edition of the STAT website.

Net exports pushed past 78,000 metric tons (MT) between January and November, compared to net imports of 56,601 MT during the same eleven month period in 2013.

Exports exceeded imports in December of 2013, with the result net imports for the full 2013 calendar year ended up at 50,647 MT. Net imports recently peaked at 80,610 MT in 2011.
