Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 5/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system south of WA is extending a ridge into New South Wales in the wake of a cold front, pushing a drier airmass across the region. Weaker cold fronts are expected to pass to the south during Friday and Saturday, but should have little impact on the state's weather. During the weekend a high is expected to become established over the Tasman Sea while a trough lingers over northeast New South Wales. This pattern should bring a return to more humid conditions for parts of the north and east, but is unlikely to generate any significant rainfall during the forecast period.
Forecast for the rest of FridayThe chance of a light shower or two about the north coast and adjacent ranges, mainly in the morning. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southwesterly winds inland. Northwest to southwesterly winds elsewhere, tending east to northeasterly near the coast in the afternoon. Large and powerful surf conditions are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as rock fishing, swimming and surfing.Fire Danger - Very High: North Western Fire Area.Saturday 7 MarchA shower or two on the north coast, mainly during the afternoon, possibly extending the the adjacent ranges.
