Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 4/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong cold front over far eastern Victoria will rapidly clear away to the east this morning as an associated deep low pressure system passes well south of Tasmania. The next high pressure system will remain well to the west of Victoria for the time being, as further cold fronts will cross Tasmania late Thursday and during Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayScattered showers on and south of the ranges, contracting eastwards and generally clearing by the afternoon - only isolated showers remaining about the coast during the afternoon and evening. Fine and mostly sunny in the north. Cool with fresh and gusty southwesterly winds, strong at times near the coast.Fire Danger -  High, reaching very high in the northwest.Friday 6 MarchIsolated showers in the south, tending scattered near the coast and West Gippsland. Fine and mainly sunny in the north. Cool with moderate to fresh southwest winds, strong at first near the coast.Saturday 7 MarchIsolated showers near the coast, mainly in the southwest. Fine and mainly sunny in the north. Cool to mild with moderate westerly winds, fresh at times in the south.Sunday 8 MarchFine and mostly sunny apart from isolated showers possible about the southwest coast.A mild to warm day with light westerly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Thursday.Product IDV10310
