Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 4/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A broad low pressure trough over northeastern New South Wales is weakening. During Thursday a cold front will cross the state and a high pressure ridge will develop in it"s wake. The next front is expected to move through the state on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdaySlight chance of showers and thunderstorm about the northern ranges early this evening. Fine and mostly clear elsewhere. South to southwesterly winds inland, and southeast to northeasterly winds about the coast and ranges.Thursday 5 MarchSlight chance of shower along the coast and adjacent ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds extending throughout and becoming fresh and gusty in many areas.Fire Danger -  Very High in the Greater Hunter, ACT, Northern Slopes, North Western, Upper and Lower Central West Plains, Southern Slopes and Eastern Riverina Fire Areas.Friday 6 MarchSlight to medium chance of showers on the north coast and adjacent ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh over the far southeast during the day, tending north to northeast along the coast in the afternoon.Saturday 7 MarchSlight to medium chance of showers in the northeast and on the far south coast. The chance of thunderstorms on the northern ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to northwest winds, tending north to northeast near the coast.Sunday 8 MarchMedium chance of showers and thunderstorms in the northeast, extending to the northern inland and central coast. Slight chance of showers on the south coast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds in coastal areas, west to southwesterly inland.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Thursday.Product IDN10031
