VANCOUVER - Feb 20/15 - SNS -- Lentil markets maintained their firm tone in seasonally light trade during the past week.
Grower bids in Canada remain at unusually high levels, with prices paid for No 2 Canada or better product maintaining a wider than normal premium to lower grades.
This is clearest in large green lentils, with prices offered farmers for No 1 grade farmers dressed product sitting in the top 10% of their historic price range, compared to decile eight for No 2 grade product, and decile six for Extra 3 and No 3 Canada lentils.
