National Weekly Rice Summary (Arkansas-Louisiana-Texas-California) Domestic Trend In the south, long grain milled rice prices in Arkansas(from the high side)and Texas(from the low side)steady to 1.00 lower however Louisiana remain fully steady; medium grain milled rice prices steady to weak. Parboiled prices in Arkansas 1.00 to 2.00 lower however Texas and Louisiana remain fully steady; Second heads trading 1.00 to 2.00 lower however Louisiana remains fully steady; Brewers rice trending steady to 1.00 lower. Rice by-products: rice bran mostly 10.00 to 15.00 lower; millfeed steady to 5.00 lower; ground rice hulls mostly steady. In California, medium grain milled rice prices remain steady to weak; short grain milled rice prices not fully established due to availability and very limited sales. Second heads and Brewers remain steady. Rice by-products: rice bran prices steady. Rice hull prices not full established. Water usage and availability continues to be a heavy topic throughout California rice country. Depending on the water outcome, the market could move either direction. CME Rough Rice settlements for Friday Feb 13th, Mar closed .195 higher at 10.525; May closed .195 higher at 10.765; Jly closed .195 higher at 11.015. US dollar index on Friday settled at 94.19.
