Firm Tone in Lentils

VANCOUVER - Jan 30/15 - SNS -- International lentil markets maintained their firm tone through the past week as offers from growers slipped behind the short terms needs of the market.

While the Canadian dollar continued its slide, it is having no impact on export asking prices, with growers benefiting from higher average bid levels.

Bids to Canadian growers for top grade large green lentils remain at unusually high levels, now sitting within 4% of their historic high for No 1 quality farmer's dressed product delivered western Canadian processing plants.
