MELBOURNE - Jan 30/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system will remain to the east of Bass Strait tonight before slowly moving away to the southeast on Saturday. A high pressure system will strengthen south of the Bight on Sunday and will remain over waters south of the Bight into early next week resulting in a continuation of the southerly airflow across Victoria. Forecast for the rest of FridayMostly cloudy over Gippsland with showers tending to areas of rain over East Gippsland. Isolated showers developing along the southwest coast tonight, but dry elsewhere. Moderate to locally fresh southerly winds.Saturday 31 JanuaryScattered showers over East Gippsland. Isolated showers elsewhere in the south. Cool to mild and partly cloudy in the south, mild and generally sunny in the north. Moderate south to southwesterly winds, fresh along the coastal fringe.Fire Danger - High in the north.Sunday 1 FebruaryCool to mild and mostly cloudy in the south with isolated showers and drizzle patches, scattered over the far southeast. Mild and partly cloudy over the north. Light to moderate south to southwesterly winds, locally fresh about the coastal.Monday 2 FebruaryCool to mild and and partly cloudy in the south with isolated showers. Isolated showers also possible about the northeast, mainly about the ranges. Mild to warm and generally sunny over the northern plains. Generally moderate to fresh southerly winds.Tuesday 3 FebruaryCool to mild and and partly cloudy in the south with isolated showers. Mild to warm and generally sunny over the northern plains.
