Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 28/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough is over the Tasman Sea and a high pressure system is to the south of Tasmania. The trough will deepen into a strong low pressure system in the southern Tasman Sea on Thursday, bringing drier southerly winds across much of the state. The low will weaken and move towards New Zealand over the weekend with onshore southeast winds beginning to return on Sunday as a ridge builds along the NSW coast.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayMedium to high chance of showers along the the coast and adjacent ranges in the far south, grading to a slight to medium chance of showers along the fringes of the central coast. Chance of an afternoon thunderstorm over the far southeast. Fine and mostly sunny west of the ranges. Southeasterly winds, tending southwest to southeasterly and fresh along the coast.Friday 30 JanuarySlight chance of showers along the coast and eastern ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southwesterly winds, fresh near the coast in the south.Saturday 31 JanuarySlight chance of showers along the coast and ranges in the north and south. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest winds.Sunday 1 FebruarySlight to medium chance of showers on and east of the ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere.
