U.S. National Weekly Rice Summary

LITTLE ROCK - Jan 20/15 - SNS -- The latest weekly rice market summary for the United States was released by the USDA today.

                             Domestic Trend
   In the south, long and medium grain milled rice prices steady to weak.  Parboiled,
Seconds heads and Brewers prices steady to weak.  Rice by-products:  rice bran prices
steady; millfeed prices steady to 10.00 lower; ground hulls prices steady to 5.00
lower.  Majority of contact continue to supply regular customer with product with
very little new customer business.  Transportation issues continue to be a hot topic
both domestic and exports.
   In California, medium grain milled rice prices steady to 1.00 lower; short grain
milled rice steady.  Second heads prices steady to 2.00 lower; Brewers steady to 1.00
lower.  Rice by-products:  rice bran prices steady; hull very lightly tested, however
prices firm.  Contacts have made remarks on slow to steady business as most continue
to fill needs of regular customers.
   CME Rough Rice settlements for Friday Jan 16th, Mar closed .005 lower at 11.325;
May closed .005 lower at 11.575; Jul closed .005 lower at 11.810.  US dollar index on
Friday settled at 92.61.
