Myanmar Pulse Exports Drop in October

WASHINGTON - Jan 16/15 - SNS -- Pulse exports from Myanmar fell in October, dropping below month and year earlier levels, according to the latest data from the country's ministry of commerce.

Myanmar exported 48,900 metric tons (MT) from 57,217 MT in September due to weak demand from India especially for Matpe beans (Black Gram).

Matpe and Toor Whole beans equally accounted for 42% of exports in October followed by Mung Beans at 11%. By country, 69% of total official pulse exports were shipped to India, and 4% equally to Singapore, Malaysia and Pakistan.
