ST. JOSEPH - Jan 16/15 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Jan 16.
WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW Compared to last week, grain and soybean bids were lower for the week. USDA released its Supply and Demand Report and lowered corn ending stocks by 121 mb to 1,877 bb for 2014-2015 marketing year this was a lower but still record corn crop. The final average yield was 171 bpa with final corn corn production at 14.216 bb, this was 191 mb below Novembers numbers. Soybean production was left unchanged from December at 410 mb for ending stocks. Soybeans were pressured this week from favorable weather and good growing conditions in South America. The Brazil soybean crop was increased by 1.5 mmt. Corn saw some pressure from increased producer selling and ethanol inventories. Wheat was lower on a rising U.S. dollar and weak export trade. Wheat was mostly 24-39 cents lower. Corn was 9-15 cents lower and sorghum 17-52 cents lower. Soybeans traded 52-62 cents lower. WHEAT: Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 24 3/4 cents lower from 6.63-6.73 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Soft Red winter rail bid was not quoted. St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red Winter terminal bid was 35-39 cents lower from 5.28-5.42 per bushel. Minneapolis and Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was 1 1/2 cent higher to 27 1/2 cents lower from 7.10-7.31 per bushel. Portland US Soft White wheat rail was 24 1/4-32 cents lower from 6.20 3/4-6.50 per bushel. CORN: Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 25-33 cents lower from 3.64- 3.7684 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 11 1/4-14 1/4 cents lower from 3.63-3.68 per bushel. Omaha corn was 11-15 cents lower from 3.59-3.63 per bushel. Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 9 1/4-11 1/4 cents lower from 3.61-3.84 per bushel. Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 9 1/4-11 1/4 cents lower from 3.61-3.65 per bushel. Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn rail was 10 1/4 cents lower at 3.49 per bushel. OATS AND BARLEY: US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20 day was 20 1/2 cents lower from 2.96 3/4-3.31 3/4 per bushel. US No 3 or better rail malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was 15 cents lower at 7.20 per bushel. Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not available. SORGHUM: US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 25 cents lower at 6.79 per cwt. Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the farmer, fob elevator) was 17-51 cents lower from 6.79-7.23 per cwt. OILSEEDS: Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 57 1/4 cents lower at 9.36 per bushel. Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 52 1/4-58 1/4 cents lower from 9.89-10.06 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Yellow truck soybeans were 57 1/4-62 1/4 cents lower from 9.86-9.91 per bushel. Illinois 48 percent Soybean meal, processor rail bid was 42.50-53.50 lower from 354.70- 361.70 per ton.
