MELBOURNE - Nov 22/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough moving rapidly across western Victoria will push across to the far east of the State by early Sunday morning. A high pressure ridge will briefly extend across the State during Sunday ahead of another low pressure trough and cold front which will rapidly cross the State on Monday. A cooler southwest to southerly airflow will follow over Victoria on Tuesday with another front likely to reinforce that airstream on Tuesday night. A strong high pressure system will approach Tasmania late on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayA southwest to southerly change reaching central areas during the evening and the east at night. Isolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms.Sunday 23 NovemberIsolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms over central and eastern districts contracting to the far northeast later morning then clearing. Generally warm to hot inland with light westerly winds but milder near the coast with afternoon seabreezes. The chance of showers in the southwest during the evening.Fire Danger - Generally high.Monday 24 NovemberScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Mild to warm northerly winds ahead of a cooler, fresh southwesterly change extending from the west early in the morning to reach eastern areas during the afternoon.Tuesday 25 NovemberIsolated showers in the south but dry north of the divide. A cool to mild day with moderate southwesterly winds, fresh near the coast.Wednesday 26 NovemberIsolated showers in the south, mainly in the morning. Dry in the north. Cool to mild in the south, warm in the north.
