MELBOURNE - Nov 21/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough of low pressure over the west of the State will move eastwards to reach a line Kingscote to Tarcoola late Saturday morning and Broken Hill to Coober Pedy late evening. Another trough will move over the west and far south of the State on Sunday and extend to the far northeast corner on Monday, as a high develops southwest of the Bight early next week. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayA slight chance of showers and thunderstorms over most districts except the West Coast, more likely near southern coasts and the South East district, and over the Flinders and south of the Pastoral districts. Hot to very hot in the north, warm in the south. Moderate to fresh northerly winds in the north and east, ahead of a milder fresh southwest to southerly change extending from the west to reach a line Broken Hill to Coober Pedy late evening.Sunday 23 NovemberA slight chance of thundery showers over the northern agricultural area, Pastoral and Flinders districts and over the agricultural area north and west of Adelaide. A medium chance of showers developing over southern coasts in the afternoon. Warm in the south grading to hot to very hot in the north. Light winds, tending moderate to fresh northerly in the north and a moderate to fresh southerly change in the west.Monday 24 NovemberA slight chance of showers throughout, medium about the southern coasts in the morning and in the far northeast. Possible thunder except over Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East. Cool to mild in the south, grading to very hot in the northeast. Moderate to fresh north to northwest winds in the northeast, ahead of a fresh southwest to southerly change extending to Moomba late evening.Tuesday 25 November A slight chance of showers about central and eastern coasts and in the far northeast with a chance of thunderstorms in the far northeast. Cool to mild in the south, grading to hot in the northeast. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds. Cumulative rainfall totals through to midnight Tuesday are expected to be 1 to 5 mm, reaching 5 to 10 mm about the Lower South East coast. Possible falls of 5 to 20 mm with thunderstorms, mainly about the Mid-North and Flinders and adjacent inland parts on Saturday.
