Myanmar Pulse Shipments Slow in June

WASHINGTON - Nov 6/14 - SNS -- Pulse exports from Myanmar slumped in June, plunging 59% from the quantity shipped in May, but rising above the volume exported the same month last year.

Slumping demand from India and Indonesia accounted for the sharp drop in export clearances. This had an impact on domestic prices for all pulses, but they ended up closing above values which prevailed in May, reports the U.S. agricultural attache for the country.

Official exports of beans and pulses totaled 68,893 metric tons (MT) in June, down 59% from the previous month due to weak demand for Matpe and Toor Whole beans from India.
