Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 23/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system near Tasmania will move east to be centred over the Tasman Sea by Friday. A low pressure trough will move over western coasts on Friday morning, then extend over remaining coasts by evening. A more significant trough will extend from the west during Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine apart from slight chance of thundery showers west of Coober Pedy to Ceduna with little or no rainfall. A cool to mild evening with moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending northeast to northwesterly in the north.Friday 24 OctoberFine apart from the slight chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms southwest of Pukatja to Broken Hill and northeast of Tarcoola to Renmark. Warm near the southern coasts, hot to very hot elsewhere. Light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds ahead of a moderate southwest to southerly wind change extending from the west during the afternoon and evening.Saturday 25 OctoberFine apart from possible morning drizzle about southern coasts and the slight chance of thundery showers west of Pukatja to Nullarbor. Mild to warm near the coasts, grading to very hot in the north. Light to moderate southeast to southwesterly winds, fresh about the coasts during the afternoon.Sunday 26 OctoberFine in central and eastern parts initially. Areas of cloud with the slight chance of thundery showers in the west during the afternoon, extending east to reach a line from Oodnadatta to Renmark by evening. Hot to very hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds in the morning, ahead of a cooler, fresh southwesterly change, extending eastwards during the afternoon and evening.Monday 27 October
Possible thundery showers northwest of Coober Pedy to Broken Hill. The slight chance of showers over the southern agricultural area, increasing to a medium chance of showers over the Lower South East. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds. Cool to mild in the south, grading to hot in the far northeast.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Monday are expected to be less than 2 mm.
Tuesday until ThursdayThe slight chance of showers about the southern agricultural area, increasing to a medium chance over the Lower South East. Showers contracting to southern coasts on Wednesday then clearing on Thursday ahead of a possible shower in the far west. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, becoming warm to hot northerly on Thursday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Friday.Product IDS10033
