Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 22/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge over New South Wales is weakening and a low pressure trough is moving over the far wests. During Thursday and Friday the trough will move east as a cold front approaches from the west and the ridge weakens further.This front will cross the state on Saturday with another front expected to move through during Monday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdaySlight to medium chance of showers in the northern and central inland, with the chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northeast and northwesterly winds.Thursday 23 OctoberSlight to moderate chance of showers and possible thunderstorms in the eastern half mostly on the slopes and ranges. Partly cloudy in the west. Northwest to northeasterly winds, turning briefly southerly on the south coast later.Fire Danger -  Very High in Lower and Upper Central West PlainsFriday 24 OctoberSlight chance of showers on the coast and eastern ranges with possible thunderstorms. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Westerly winds tending northeasterly near the coast.Saturday 25 OctoberSlight chance of showers on the coast and eastern ranges with possible thunderstorms. Weak southerly change extending throughout.Sunday 26 OctoberSlight chance of showers on the coast and eastern ranges with possible thunderstorms in the north.
