MELBOURNE - Oct 21/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough will enter far southwestern Victoria late this morning and will cross the remainder of western Victoria this afternoon before moving eastwards this evening and weakening. The next high pressure system will pass just south of Tasmania on Thursday, reaching the south Tasman Sea on Friday. Another low pressure trough will enter western Victoria Friday afternoon, clearing eastern districts early Saturday as the next high pressure system approaches Tasmania. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayEarly morning fog patches in the east. Partly cloudy with isolated thundery showers developing over the west during the afternoon and extending to central districts this evening. Drizzle patches to follow over the southwest tonight. Warm to hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a cooler southwest to southerly change moving over the west this afternoon and central areas this evening.Thursday 23 OctoberFine over the north. Isolated showers of drizzle over the south contracting to East Gippsland during the afternoon. Cool to mild and mostly cloudy in the south. Warm and mainly sunny in the north. Light to moderate southerly winds extending throughout.Friday 24 OctoberFine over the north and west. Isolated showers possible in the southeast during the morning. Mild to warm with light winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Saturday 25 OctoberIsolated showers possible over the southwest and southeast. Fine elsewhere. Cool to mild in the south but warm over the north.
