MELBOURNE - Oct 21/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure is centred over the Tasman Sea. A low pressure trough over the far west of the State will move east, reaching eastern parts of the State on Wednesday. A high will follow the trough, moving south of the Bight and reaching the Tasman Sea by Friday. Another low pressure trough will move over the State on Friday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated thundery showers over Eyre Peninsula and the North West Pastoral, extending east during the evening. Possible raised dust over the Northwest Pastoral and Eyre Peninsula. Hot to very hot with moderate to fresh northeast to northwesterly winds. A milder, moderate southwest to southerly change extending from the west, reaching the Central and Mid North districts late evening.Wednesday 22 OctoberIsolated thundery showers east of about Adelaide, though south of Clare, contracting eastwards to clear the eastern border mid morning. Possible drizzle about the western coasts during the morning and about southern coasts during the evening. Mild to warm near the coasts grading to hot to very hot in the northeast. Moderate northerly winds, shifting moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly. The chance of raised dust in the northeast during the day.Thursday 23 OctoberFine apart from the slight chance of drizzle about southern coasts and ranges during the morning. Mild to warm near the coasts grading to hot to very hot in the far north. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending northeast to northwesterly in the north.Friday 24 OctoberFine, apart from the slight chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms southwest of Pukatja to Leigh Creek, though northeast of Tarcoola to Lameroo. Warm near the coasts grading to hot to very hot in the far north. Light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, tending southwest to southeasterly in the afternoon or evening, except in the northeast.Saturday 25 October Fine. Mild to warm near the coasts, grading to very hot in the north. Light to moderate southeast to southwesterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Saturday are expected to be less than 2 mm. Sunday until TuesdayFine and hot to very hot on Sunday with moderate to fresh northerly winds. A cooler southwesterly change in the west on Sunday afternoon, extending eastwards overnight.
