U.S. National Weekly Rice Summary

LITTLE ROCK - Oct 20/14 - SNS -- The latest weekly rice market summary for the United States was released by the USDA today.

                       National Weekly Rice Summary
                 (Arkansas-Louisiana-Texas-California)
                             Domestic Trend
   In the south, long and medium grain rice prices steady.  Parboiled, Second heads
and Brewers prices steady.  Rice by-products:  rice bran, millfeed and ground hulls
prices steady.  Louisiana Rough Rice price quotes .47 cents per CWT lower, however no
trades reported at this price level.  Rice mills currently operating at a slower pace
because of light to moderate market activity.
   In California, medium and short grain rice prices steady.  Second heads and
Brewers prices steady.  Rice by-products:  rice bran and ground hulls prices steady.
Rice harvest progressing moderately as warmer weather allows farmers to catch up from
previous rains.  Bid/ask price spreads on new crop pricing at wide ranges which has
the farmers and mills standing their ground.
   CME Rough Rice settlements for Friday Oct 17th, Nov 14 closed .035 higher at
12.545; Jan 15 closed .045 higher at 12.715; Mar 15 closed .04 higher at 12.98.  US
dollar index on Friday settled at 85.20.
