MELBOURNE - Oct 20/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system centred just east of Tasmania will move over the Tasman Sea today. A low pressure trough will reach western Victoria during Wednesday afternoon before moving eastwards and weakening. A new high pressure system will build to the south of Tasmania on Thursday before merging with the Tasman Sea high on Friday. Another low pressure trough will approach western Victoria from the west on Friday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine and mostly sunny apart from early morning fog patches over the northeast. A warm day inland, grading to hot over the northwest with light to moderate northeast to northerly winds. Milder along parts of the coast with afternoon seabreezes.Wednesday 22 OctoberCloud increasing from the west with isolated showers developing over the southwest. Warm to hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds shifting cooler southwesterly in the west later.Thursday 23 OctoberFine over the north. Isolated showers over the south contracting to East Gippsland during the afternoon. Cool to mild and mostly cloudy in the south. Warm and mainly sunny in the north. Light to moderate southerly winds extending throughout.Friday 24 OctoberFine over the north. Isolated showers possible in the south.
