MELBOURNE - Sep 22/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A slow moving high pressure system lies over the Tasman Sea. A low pressure trough will move from South Australia towards western Victoria late Tuesday then will move across Victoria on Wednesday and early Thursday as the next high pressure system forms over the the head of the Bight. A weak change will move through southern Victoria on Friday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayEarly morning fog patches in the east then sunny. Cloud increasing in the west during the afternoon with isolated showers developing in the late afternoon and evening. A mild to warm day with moderate north to northeasterly winds, fresh at times in the west with afternoon seabreezes along the Gippsland coast.Wednesday 24 SeptemberAreas of rain and isolated thunderstorms extending from the west. Mild day with moderate to locally fresh northeast to northerly winds tending west to southwesterly over western and central districts. Afternoon seabreezes along the Gippsland coast.Thursday 25 SeptemberAreas of rain contracting eastwards with isolated showers to follow, mainly over the southeast. Cooler fresh southerly winds gradually extending throughout.Friday 26 SeptemberScattered showers extending from the west across most districts.
