Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 21/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system south of Mount Gambier will move slowly eastwards to be centred over the Tasman sea on Tuesday. A low pressure trough will move into the west of the State on Tuesday, reaching eastern parts later Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayFine. Early morning frost patches over the Flinders Ranges and eastern districts south of Yunta. Mild to warm with light to moderate east to northeasterly winds grading to hot in the far west with freshening northeasterly winds.Monday 22 SeptemberFine. Warm grading to hot in the far west. Light to moderate northeast to northerly winds, fresh in the west.Tuesday 23 SeptemberThe chance of showers and thunderstorms extending from the west over areas west of about Oodnadatta to Yunta to Kingscote. Showers more likely in the west. Warm to hot with light to moderate northeast to northerly winds, fresh at times. Milder temperature with northwest to southwesterly winds developing in the west during the afternoon.Wednesday 24 September
Chance of showers and possible thunderstorms expected throughout the State apart from the far north, more likely over the area east of Ceduna, north of Keith and south of Leigh Creek. Warm to hot with moderate to fresh northeast to northwesterly winds in the east, ahead of a milder, moderate to fresh southeast to southwesterly change developing from the west, reaching Leigh Creek to Mount Gambier by late evening.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday morning until midnight Wednesday are expected to be about 5 to 10 mm about the southern Pastorals and the agricultural area apart from the South East Districts, reaching 10 to 20 mm over Eyre and Yorke Peninsulas, the Flinders and the Mid North. Generally less than 2 mm over the South East districts and the northern Pastoral districts.
Thursday until SaturdayShowers southeast of Birdsville to Tarcoola to Nullarbor on Thursday, contracting to the agricultural area on Friday, then to the southern agricultural area on Saturday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Sunday.Product IDS10033
