ST. JOSEPH - Sep 19/14 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Sep 19.
WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW Compared to last week, grains and soybean bids were mostly lower. Grain bids were under pressure most of the week as the markets are anticipating an increase in corn and soybean bushels as the attention turns a record crop that is ahead as harvest is beginning. Earlier in the week a cold front moved across the mid- section of the country, heavy rains last week fell in the northern parts of the corn-belt left 5-10 inches on the ground leaving fields soaked. Corn had weekly export sales totaling 26.0 mb for the 2014-2015 marketing year. Soybeans had weekly export sales of 54.0 mb with 53.9 mb for the 2014-2015 marketing year. Wheat had export sales of 11.6 mb for the 2014-2015 marketing year. Wheat closed 6-48 cents lower for the week. Corn traded mostly 3-15 cents lower with sorghum 5-13 cents lower. Soybeans closed 10 to 2.60 lower depending on basis moves. WHEAT: Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 6 1/2-16 1/2 cents lower from 6.89 3/4-7.14 3/4 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Soft Red winter rail bid was not quoted. St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red Winter terminal bid was 48 cents lower at 3.93 per bushel. Minneapolis and Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was 77 1/2 to 4.17 1/4 lower from 7.65 1/4-9.75 1/4 per bushel. Portland US Soft White wheat rail was 1-10 cents lower from 6.58 1/2-6.90 per bushel. CORN: Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 2 cents higher to 2 cents lower from 3.38-3.42 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 7 3/4-12 3/4 cents lower from 3.18 1/4-3.23 1/4 per bushel. Omaha US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 3-15 cents lower from 3.18-3.38 per bushel. Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 11 3/4-12 3/4 cents lower from 3.12 1/4-3.63 1/4 per bushel. Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 2 3/4-5 3/4 cents lower from 3.27 1/4-3.32 1/4 per bushel. Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn rail was 26 3/4 cents lower at 2.92 1/4 per bushel. OATS AND BARLEY: US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20 day was 5 1/2-11 1/2 cents lower from 3.72 1/4-3.92 1/4 per bushel. US No 3 or better rail malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was 15 cents higher at 6.35 per bushel. Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not available. SORGHUM: US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 5 cents lower at 5.33 per cwt. Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the farmer, fob elevator) was 5 to 13 cents lower from 5.77-5.95 per cwt. OILSEEDS: Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 10 cents lower at 9.40 1/2 per bushel. Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 65 cents higher to 10 cents lower from 11.21 1/2-12.21 1/2 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Yellow truck soybeans were 2.60 lower at 9.21 1/2 per bushel. Illinois 48 percent Soybean meal, processor rail bid was 3.0 higher to 45.00 lower from 528.80-587.80 per ton.
