WASHINGTON - Sep 16/14 - SNS -- Inventories of hops are down 6% over last year in the United States, with the USDA.
The inventory of hops held by growers, dealers, and brewers on September 1, 2014, totaled 90 million pounds, 6% less than the September 1, 2012 estimate. No report was issued in September 2013 due to budget cuts.
Stocks held by brewers, at 43.0 million pounds, were down 17% from two years ago. Stocks held by dealers and growers on September 1, 2014 totaled 47.0 million pounds, up 7% from the stocks on hand in 2012.
