Frosts and Rain Leave Lentils Nervous

VANCOUVER - Sep 6/14 - SNS -- International lentil markets finished the week's trading on a nervous note against frost warnings in Canada and recent frosts in Australia.

Saskatchewan crops are thought to be too far advanced to be significantly damaged by the forecast killing frost, which could see temperatures dip to minus seven Celsius in parts of the province.

Cereal and oilseed crops are expected to suffer the brunt of the event, which will act as a desiccant by killing developing plants.
