Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 2/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the east of the State will move eastwards to be over the eastern states later today. A low pressure system and associated front will move across western parts of the State late this afternoon and evening before continuing over southern and eastern parts on Thursday. Another high is expected to follow, moving over the Bight on Friday and across Victoria during the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayCold at first with morning frost over central and eastern districts. High cloud increasing during the day with isolated showers developing over Eyre Peninsula, then extending to the Mid North and Flinders districts and western Kangaroo Island during the afternoon and evening. Isolated showers possibly extending over Yorke Peninsula in the afternoon and the south of the Northeast pastoral district in the evening. Possible late evening thunderstorms about the western coast of Eyre Peninsula. Cool to mild, grading to warm in the west of the North West Pastoral district. Light to moderate east to northeasterly winds, turning moderate northerly in the west, ahead of a moderate to fresh southerly change in the west during the afternoon and evening.Thursday 4 SeptemberShowers over the agricultural area and southern parts of the North East Pastoral district, possibly extending as far north as Leigh Creek and Cameron Corner, but more likely over Central districts and the Ranges. A chance of morning thunderstorms over Spencer Gulf and adjacent areas. Showers contracting east during the day and clearing the eastern border by midnight. Cool to mild. Light to moderate northerly winds, shifting southwest to southeasterly from the west.Friday 5 SeptemberHigh cloud in the northwest with a slight chance of showers northwest of about Coober Pedy. Areas of morning fog over agricultural areas, otherwise fine. Cool to mild. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds, and light afternoon sea breezes in the west.Saturday 6 September
A slight chance of morning showers in the northwest of the North West Pastoral district. Early morning fog in the Lower South East, otherwise fine. Cool to mild in the south, grading to mild to warm in the north. Light to moderate northeasterly winds, freshening in the west.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday morning to midnight Saturday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over much of the agricultural area, decreasing to less than 2 mm elsewhere. Isolated falls of 10 to 15 mm are possible over the Mt Lofty Ranges and with thunderstorms.
Sunday until TuesdayFine and mild to warm on Sunday with freshening northerly winds ahead of a west to southwesterly change bringing showers early next week to agricultural areas, possibly reaching into the southern parts of the Pastoral districts.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Wednesday.Product IDS10033
