MELBOURNE - Sep 1/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Bight will move eastwards and weaken over the next few of days. A front will move across southern parts of the State on Thursday, to be followed by another high over the Bight on Friday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, contracting southeast during the day and clearing early evening. Possible small hail in the south of the Lower South East during the morning. Isolated early frost patches in the West Coast district northwest of about Ceduna and in the south of the Northwest pastoral west of Woomera. Cool to cold with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds, fresh at first about central coasts, turning east to northeasterly in the west.Wednesday 3 SeptemberCold at first with morning frost and fog patches inland. Slight chance of showers developing over southern coasts, Eyre Peninsula and the south of the North West Pastoral district. Cool to mild grading to warm in the west with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds, turning moderate northerly in the west, ahead of a moderate to fresh southerly change in the west late afternoon or evening.Thursday 4 SeptemberShowers over the agricultural area and the West Coast and Flinders districts, and the North East Pastoral district south of about Leigh Creek, more likely over Kangaroo Island and the South East district with possible isolated thunderstorms. Showers contracting east during the day. Cool in the south grading to mild to warm in the north with light to moderate northerly winds, shifting southwest to southeasterly from the west.Friday 5 September The chance of isolated early showers near the eastern border, and about the coastal area west of about Fowlers Bay, otherwise fine. Cool in the south grading to mild in the north with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday morning to midnight Friday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over the agricultural area and up to 2 mm over the West Coast district, Eyre Peninsula and the south of the pastorals. Isolated falls of 10 to 15 mm are possible over the Mt Lofty Ranges. Saturday until MondayFine on the weekend. The chance of showers over the agricultural area on Monday.
