Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 1/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front will move across the southeast of the State late Monday afternoon or evening. A high pressure system will develop over the Bight in the wake of the front and will then move eastwards during the middle of the week. Another front will move across southern parts of the State on Thursday, to be followed by a high over the Bight on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers and thunderstorms south of Leigh Creek, clearing west of about Kyancutta. Showers scattered over the southern agricultural area. The chance of small hail over the South East district, Kangaroo Island and the southern Fleurieu Peninsula. Cool to cold, grading to mild in the far north with fresh southwesterly winds.Tuesday 2 SeptemberIsolated showers over the agricultural area, contracting southeast during the day and clearing by late evening. Possible small hail in the south of the Lower South East early morning. Isolated early frost patches in the Flinders district and northwest of about Ceduna. Cool to cold with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds turning east to northeasterly in the west.Wednesday 3 SeptemberCold at first with morning frost and fog patches inland. Slight chance of showers developing over southern coasts, Eyre Peninsula and the south of the North West Pastoral district. Cool to mild grading to warm in the west with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds, turning moderate northerly in the west, ahead of a moderate to fresh southerly change in the west late afternoon or evening.Thursday 4 SeptemberShowers over the agricultural area and the West Coast and Flinders districts, and the North East Pastoral district south of about Leigh Creek, more likely over Kangaroo Island and the South East district with possible isolated thunderstorms. Showers contracting east during the day. Cool in the south grading to mild to warm in the north with light to moderate northerly winds, shifting southwest to southeasterly from the west.Friday 5 September
The chance of isolated early showers near the eastern border, and about the coastal area west of about Fowlers Bay, otherwise fine. Cool in the south grading to mild in the north with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday afternoon to midnight Friday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural, 2 to 5 mm over the northern agricultural area and up to 2 mm over the remainder south of about Leigh Creek. Isolated falls of 10 to 20 mm are possible over the Mount Lofty ranges and in the Lower South East.
Saturday until MondayFine on the weekend. The chance of showers over the agricultural area on Monday. Mild to warm with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Tuesday.Product IDS10033
