Larger Chinese Crop Eases Market

VANCOUVER - Aug 30/14 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets finished the week with a weaker undertone against doubts about the speed with which European buyers will cover outstanding needs.

Anxiousness was reinforced by statements by China's bean trade that this year's crop is much larger than last year's.

Like North America, seeding on this year's crop started late in many of China's key dry bean producing regions. This increases the risk of quality problems from weather events which can occur as the season changes from summer to autumn.
