Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Aug 20/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system near centred near Tasmania today will drift slowly eastwards over the southern Tasman Sea on Friday. A cold front will move across the Bight on Friday and weaken to a trough as it moves over western Victoria late on Saturday. The weak trough will be slow moving on Sunday as the next high pressure system moves from the Bight towards western Victoria by late in the day.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayEarly frost inland and areas of morning fog. Dry apart from isolated showers in the far east. A cool to mild and partly cloudy day with generally light east to northeasterly winds. Afternoon seabreezes along the Gippsland coast.Friday 22 AugustEarly frost and areas of fog inland. Isolated showers in the far east, otherwise a dry and mild day with light to moderate northeast to northerly winds and afternoon seabreezes along the Gippsland coast.Saturday 23 AugustScattered showers developing over western districts during the afternoon. A mild day with cloud increasing from the west and light to moderate northeast to northerly winds.Sunday 24 AugustScattered showers extending across the State but tending more isolated over the southeast and northwest. A cool to mild day with light northerly winds tending westerly over the northwest.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Thursday.Product IDV10310
