MELBOURNE - Aug 19/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system over the central Tasman Sea is moving east, while a high is centred to the west of Bass Strait. This high will be the dominant feature in the region during the next few days as it drifts slowly east and strengthens. By the weekend, the high is expected to be over the Tasman Sea, allowing a weak trough to enter New South Wales from the west. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayShowers along the central and northern coasts, more frequent north of about Newcastle, and possibly extending to the Northern Tablelands in the afternoon. The chance of light afternoon showers in the far west. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds in the east, fresh and gusty along the coast, tending light easterly inland.Thursday 21 AugustShowers along the coast and adjacent ranges, more frequent on the coastal fringe. The chance of afternoon showers over the northern inland. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. East to southeasterly winds.Friday 22 AugustShowers along the coast and adjacent ranges, more frequent on the coastal fringe. The chance of afternoon showers over the northern inland.
