MELBOURNE - Aug 19/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A deep complex low pressure system is located in the central Tasman Sea. Meanwhile, a high pressure system south of the Bight extends a ridge over Tasmania. The high will drift slowly eastwards, passing across Tasmania on Wednesday night and reaching the southern Tasman Sea on Thursday. A weakening cold front will move through the Bight on Friday, approaching western Victoria late on Saturday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers over Gippsland, clearing this evening. Light to moderate southerly winds.Wednesday 20 AugustEarly frost inland, locally severe in the northeast. Fine apart from morning fog patches inland and isolated showers in Gippsland. Cool in the south, but a little milder north of the divide with generally light southeast to southerly winds.Thursday 21 AugustEarly frost inland. Fine apart from morning fog patches and isolated showers in the far east. A cool to mild day with generally light east to northeasterly winds.Friday 22 AugustFine apart from morning fog patches and isolated showers in the far east. A mild day with generally light northeasterly winds and coastal seabreezes.Saturday 23 AugustIsolated showers extending over most districts.
