Lentils Firm on Logistical Fears

VANCOUVER - Aug 8/14 - SNS -- International lentil markets finished the week's trading on a generally firm note against worries technical shortages will remain a feature of markets through the fall shipping period.

While rail movement has improved in both Canada and the United States, new crop capacity constraints are already becoming apparent.

At the same time, it has become obvious this year's harvest will be lengthy and that a significant part of the crop is at higher than normal risk of being caught by a frost or weather event.
